Events Commercial Property 2008

Commercial Property 2008 took place on Wednesday 17th September 2008 at the Glasgow Royal Concert Hall.

 

Speaking at the event were:

Paul Guest, Head of Research, Jones Lang LaSalle
 

Paul has responsibility for leading the delivery of the research agenda for Jones Lang LaSalle in the UK to meet strategic objectives and then maximising the impact of this research for business development purposes. Prior to joining Jones Lang LaSalle, Paul was the Chief European Economist for Moody’s Investors Services and Moody’s Economy.com. In that position, he had a major role in the establishment of the London office and the brand development of Economy.com in Europe, prior to its purchase by Moody’s. He was involved in all aspects of client and project acquisition, staff recruitment and training, and product development.

Steve Watts, Partner, Davis Langdon
 

Steve Watts, Cost Consultant, is a Partner at Davis Langdon LLP, heading their global Tall Buildings Specialist Group. This group captures knowledge and information from the company’s numerous high-rise projects around the world, including the majority of the landmark tower schemes that are currently in various stages of development in central London. He has worked on many tall building proposals at feasibility stage, both in and outside the public domain, and is currently closely involved in The Shard at London Bridge for Sellar Property Group. He recently became the UK Country Leader for the Council for Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat, and sits on the organisation’s Steering Group (based in Chicago).

Nigel Woolner, Architectural Consultant, Chapman Taylor
 

Nigel Woolner is an architectural Consultant of Chapman Taylor, a leading international architectural practice specialising in mixed-use retail-led urban regeneration projects throughout the world. In the UK the practice is currently involved in major regeneration projects throughout England and Wales. A member of the British Council of Shopping Centres Awards Jury for twelve years and on the Steering Group for the British Council of Shopping Centres’ Urban Task Force, he is also a Council member of the Royal College of Music, a Governor of Latymer School and a Fellow of the Society of Architect Artists.

Jos Van Eldonk, Soeters Van Eldonk
 

Jos Van Eldonk is a partner with Dutch architectural firm Soeters Van Eldonk. Jos has been involved with a number of major projects in The Netherlands and across Europe including the expansion and restructuring of North Amsterdam city centre, the redevelopment of the Harderwijk waterfront; Lux, the large scale masterplan for the centre of Nigmegen, and the masterplan for a sugar refinery site at Halfweg. He lectures on real estate development at Amsterdam University.

Stewart McIntosh, compropscotland.com
 

Stewart McIntosh is joint editor of compropscotland.com, Scotland's online commercial property newspaper. During his 25 year career as a freelance journalist his clients have included BBC, The Sunday Times, Scottish Business Insider, The Scotsman, The Herald, Property Week and Estates Gazette. He has won a total of 16 UK press awards, including 'UK Property Writer of the Year' on four occasions. As well as his journalism, he provides no-nonsense media skills courses and seminars on writing skills for business.
