When looking for a Traineeship I wanted to work for a firm who prided themselves on being forward thinking but at the same time held the traditional values of respect and loyalty. From day one I have felt a valued and respected part of the team at Bell & Scott. Everyone is approachable and the friendly atmosphere ensures you can always ask someone for help.

I currently work in the Glasgow Office of Bell & Scott. With its prime location in the City Centre there is a real buzz surrounding the work undertaken. Team work is a key element to the success of Bell & Scott and as a result trainees get the chance to see first hand the skill and expertise demonstrated by the firm. The opportunity to work closely with the Partners and learn from them is exciting and extremely valuable.

The work trainees receive is of a high standard and an effort is always made to involve the trainee from the beginning of a transaction through to the very end enabling you to gain as much experience as possible. At times the responsibility can be challenging but this has become very rewarding. The hardest part of being a trainee for me was converting my academic skills to practical elements, but members of your team will provide guidance and advice. The firm are keen to promote learning by providing training, and regular e-updates ensuring you are always aware of legal developments.

Bell & Scott is very much an innovative firm. With their dedication to learning and the chance to work with some of the best lawyers in the Commercial Property Industry I believe a traineeship with Bell & Scott is the best start I could have made in my legal career.

I believe Bell & Scott offers an excellent traineeship and a great start to a legal career. The firm truly sees its trainees as an investment in the future and provides for this by continuous training, learning and support. The workload can be challenging but this is also very rewarding and support is always available from a group of highly talented professionals.

The transition from University to working life can be daunting but I have found everyone here to be extremely helpful and friendly. Regular seminars and active discussions ensure employees are kept up to date on legal developments and allow us to address any concerns or challenges we are facing.

As a trainee, I have had the opportunity to contribute to Bell & Scott’s daily Sector Knowledge update and have found this invaluable in gaining perspective on the commercial aspects of legal work.

It’s not all work and no play at Bell & Scott though! There are always plenty of opportunities to socialise with colleagues and it’s tradition for the trainees to organise the Christmas Night out. This year was no exception with some interesting dance moves on display by various members of the firm!

I am glad to say that, by choosing Bell & Scott for my traineeship, I truly believe there are exciting and rewarding times ahead.
